Blue Moon Squad
Blue Moon: not the second full moon of the month, rather the 13th full moon in a year. It actually comes from "belew moon" meaning the betrayer moon. It messed up calculations for determining the Lenten Moon, thus the calendar date for Easter each year. The moon's cycle is about 29-1/2 days, not the average 30-5/12 that the julian calendar holds per month.
Small unit leadership in the military is based on one person being in charge of three people. A fireteam is the smallest unit. There is a rifleman (scout), automatic rifleman (gunner), assistant automatic rifelman (a-gunner), and team leader. There are three fireteams in a quad. Thus, fundamentally a squad has 13 persons. (There may be some additional personal, but 13 is the basic structure)
Implications of this piece were all thought about afterwards. It has a duality of feminine (moon and cycles) and masculine (hunters). Meanwhile, I just made something with things on hand. I had a homemade "jenga" and a can of blue spray paint to make these triliths
